News & EventsOn 16 March, 2009, legal fertainity, civil society and public at large will observe a historical sit-in (“Dharna”) at Constitution Avenue Islamabad. On 3rd March, 2009, a grand lawyers convention held in Islamabad Bar Associatoin in which lawyers from all over the country participated. Justice Khalil ur Rehman Ramday (Judge Supreme Court of Pakistan), Justice Khawaja Sharif (Chief Justice of Lahore High Court) Justice Ejaz Afzal (Judge Peshawar High Court), Hamid Khan and other leaders of layer movement addressed the lawyers. Islamabad Bar Association strongly condemned the tragic event of terrorist attac on Sri Lankan Cricket Team at Lahore in a resolution presented in Lawyers Convention which was passed unanimously. This brutal act of terrorism is attack on the security and sovereignty of Pakistan. Islamabad Bar Association passed a resolution unanimously against the Judgment of SCP regarding the inability to contest election and imposition of Governor Rule in Punjab. The Bar condemned this undemocratic action which is malafide and unlawful. On 18-02-09 Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will address the All Pakistan Lawyers Convention in Peshawar. On 29-01-2009 at 11:00 AM Imran Khan will address lawyers of Islamabad Bar Association and civil society at District Courts, F-8 Markaz Islamabad.
